AD&D V4
•October 26, 2007 • Leave a Commentthat’s right. Wizards of the Coast are releasing Version 4 soon.
The big change: online subscription to a very vital new piece in keeping your D&D group alive even when half of them are in another time zone. Will this resurrect those many games that died away from my enjoyment due to just that? no. I used to the The Palace for AD&D 10 years ago. Back when you had to pay $25 just to use an avatar and have a name. Server licensing was at prices I don’t even wanna remember. I played for months in a campaign with people from all over the world. It was my first actual rich involvement in the game, as all the actual tabletop sessions I ever attended were focused on 3 people in the group of 6 or more. Best experience was trying to DM for Holly and Jeremy one evening. Total failure. I was too nice (even though I pulled out a beast they had never heard of from Baldur’s Gate… it almost squished them both outright except that Jeremy got a lucky crit. Hey, that game was based on core AD&D rules!)

Try this site for size, designed for surfers to catch hurricane-size swells for massive waves.
